Carla Perry’s novel, Riva Beside Me: New York City 1963-1966 was published in 2012. A recent invitation to read from the book led to the development of a staged reading production featuring four actors playing the roles of Riva, Richard, The Mother, and The Narrator. The script for these performances is a compilation of excerpted scenes from the book, based on Perry’s life growing up in Manhattan during the 1960s. Creative Connections Foundation of Toledo, OR, is the sponsor of these readings.
