Norval Willey

Norval D. Willey was born & raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. In 1963 he began a journey that eventually brought him to Portland. He learned his craft while raising his children. In 2000 when his marriage of 26 years ended he arrived here putting his years of study into action. He soon became a regular at open mics all over town. In 2001 he read for an hour on KBOO. He reads with musicians whenever he gets a chance. He hasn’t published much yet, but that’s on the horizon.

David Matthews

Among his poetic influences are the English Romantics, French Surrealism, Emily Dickinson, Gregory Corso, and Bob Dylan. Poems have appeared in Chattahoochee Review, Night Bomb Review, Quill and Parchment, Tryst, the anthologies Blown Out: Portland’s Indie Poets and Raising Our Voices: an anthology of Oregon poets against the war, and elsewhere. Curtis Whitecarroll

Curtis Whitecarroll

Curtis Whitecarroll was born in the back of a white ’72 GMC pick-up, outside Twin Falls, Idaho, was raised in desert farm hell, was fed a steady diet of hamburger fruit loops and percodan – at 21, fresh from the mental hospital, hitch-hiked to Portland, Oregon, started writing, in the years since has produced 28,000 + poems, 9 chapbooks, and hell of a lot of trouble for the squeamish at open mics.  His work has appeared in many places including the Portland Alliance, Quill and Parchment, 42 Opus, In Rainbows poetry and photography, Shadows and Light magazine, and in the upcoming New American Poet Anthology.
